Corum Software Partner: Enterprise Software for Machinery and Building Material Exporters
Software Buyer Guides ·
Corum software partner for machinery and building material exporters
For an industrial company in Corum, a software investment usually starts with one question: “From order to shipment, what is where, and who has it?” When we discuss Corum software needs, a workshop building flour mill machinery, a roof tile plant and an exporter in the organized industrial zone (OIZ) all describe a similar picture: quotes live in Excel, the production plan is on a whiteboard, dealer orders arrive by phone and WhatsApp, and e-invoices and e-waybills are prepared separately in the accounting package. As order volume and export markets grow, that fragmentation turns into late deliveries and lost margin.
This guide is written for owners, production managers and IT leads at machinery and equipment makers, brick, tile, flour and feed producers, and family-owned companies in the OIZ of Corum, Türkiye. Aksiyon Soft is headquartered in Samsun and has no office or branch in Corum. We deliver remotely and plan on-site visits for critical steps such as discovery workshops, user acceptance or go-live, depending on the project schedule.
In short
- Corum’s industry began with flour, roof tiles and bricks and grew into machinery makers that build turnkey plants.
- The main priorities are project-based production planning, ERP, e-invoicing/e-waybills and dealer portals.
- For exporters, bringing quote, order, production and shipment data into a single record is critical.
- Data flowing between ERP, accounting, the tax authority’s e-document systems and the dealer portal should be governed by a middleware layer.
- Aksiyon Soft is based in Samsun and works with Corum companies remotely, with planned on-site visits when needed.

How does Corum’s industrial base shape its software needs?
The Corum Investment Guide published by the Central Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) reports, using 2018–2019 data, 1,174 manufacturing businesses and 18,874 industrial jobs in the province, with 289 facilities in the metal and machinery sector. According to the same guide, Corum alone supplies about 40% of Türkiye’s roof tile output and about 10% of its bricks, and the province produces roughly 500,000 tonnes of flour a year. The guide also notes that 36 of the country’s roughly 300 brick and tile plants are in Corum and that the province accounts for about 18% of national rice production. Food items such as roasted chickpeas, eggs and flour form a second production axis next to machinery and building materials.
The guide’s most striking finding concerns machinery: a sector that started in the 1940s now installs roof tile and brick, flour and semolina, and feed mill equipment on a turnkey basis in more than 130 countries. The Governorship of Corum likewise stresses that local industry’s journey, which began with flour, tiles and bricks, has turned into building turnkey plants. According to a Governorship news release, the province’s 2021 exports were announced as USD 2.637 billion.
OKA’s Corum OIZ brochure states that the zone, founded in 1977, covers 665 hectares and hosts 112 companies employing 6,575 people across 16 sectors, exporting to 138 countries. The brochure also notes that most companies there are family businesses. That makes software both a tool for institutionalization and a memory that prevents knowledge loss when one generation hands over to the next.
| Local sector | Typical software need | Critical integration |
|---|---|---|
| Flour mill, feed and tile machinery makers | Project-based production planning, bill of materials, assembly and commissioning tracking | ERP, purchasing, export documents |
| Brick and roof tile plants | Kiln and stock planning, shipment and truck tracking | e-Waybill, weighbridge, accounting |
| Flour and feed mills | Raw material lot tracking, recipes and quality records | ERP, laboratory, e-Invoice |
| Manufacturers with dealer networks | Dealer orders, price lists, account balances and service requests | Dealer portal, ERP, payment provider |

Why is planning hard in turnkey machinery production?
Unlike series production, a turnkey flour mill or tile line is a slightly different project every time. Customer capacity, local power infrastructure and product type change the bill of materials, and purchasing, fabrication, assembly, shipment and on-site commissioning all have to fit into the same calendar.
Quotes and bills of materials
The configuration prepared at quote stage should turn automatically into a bill of materials and purchasing requirements once the order is confirmed. Otherwise the same information is retyped into three different files and revisions get lost.
Work orders and capacity
The load on welding, machining, painting and assembly stations should be visible per project. Seeing in advance how a delay on one project affects other orders is the only way to give export customers realistic dates. We bring these processes onto one screen with our integrated enterprise operations and process management platform.
Purchasing and supplier tracking
Long-lead items such as motors, gearboxes and electrical panels define a project’s critical path. Opening purchase orders against the project code and feeding supplier delivery dates straight into the plan surfaces surprises weeks before assembly day. For export orders, generating the pro forma invoice, packing list and certificate of origin from the same project record also reduces delays at customs.
Commissioning and after-sales service
When the spare parts and service history of a plant installed abroad is tied to its serial number, after-sales revenue becomes plannable too.

How should dealer portals and e-document flows be designed?
For manufacturers selling through a domestic dealer network, the fastest payback often comes from a dealer portal. When dealers can see their own account balance, the current price list and order status, the sales team’s phone traffic drops. The permission model is decisive: which dealer sees which price, and which user approves an order? Our role-based enterprise management and self-service solution is a solid foundation for that.
The Revenue Administration’s (GİB) e-Waybill application was made mandatory for certain groups of taxpayers by Tax Procedure Law General Communiqué No. 509. Writing the waybill by hand for a brick truck leaving the weighbridge wastes time and invites errors. We cover the latest UBL-TR changes on the e-invoice side in the GİB UBL-TR update and e-invoice integration.

Middleware and system integration
A typical Corum machinery maker has several systems that must talk to each other: the ERP or accounting package, production planning, the dealer portal, the e-invoice and e-waybill service provider, and sometimes weighbridges or laboratory devices. Wiring every system directly to every other one creates a web that breaks at the first version change.
A middleware layer brings those connections into one place. A sample flow: an order approved in the dealer portal reaches the middleware; a sales order opens in the ERP and a purchase request is raised for parts that are out of stock; when production is finished an e-waybill draft is prepared and the order status in the dealer portal changes to “shipped”. If the service provider does not respond, the message waits in a queue, is retried, and the same document is never issued twice. We explain these patterns in outbox pattern, idempotency and retries, and the overall design in our enterprise integration middleware architecture guide.
In flour and feed mills the scenario revolves around moving lab results and silo lots into the ERP. In both cases the middleware keeps an audit trail of who sent what and when. We build this with our API and integration service.

How do you get a family business to adopt new software?
Because many Corum OIZ companies are family businesses, a software project is as much a management change as a technical one. Writing down the pricing logic, customer relationships and production sequencing rules that live in the founding generation’s heads can be the project’s most valuable output.
Bring the decision-maker to the table early
Having the owner or general manager attend at least one discovery workshop ensures that approval rights and exceptions are modelled correctly. Otherwise the “that’s not how we do it here” objections start after go-live.
Start small and deliver visible wins
Focusing the first release on the single flow people complain about most, such as dealer order tracking, builds the team’s trust in the system faster. Later modules are added on top of that trust.
Hand over to the next generation with data
Second- or third-generation managers taking over the business tend to favour reports and measurable targets. Indicators such as quote win rate, delivery lead time and profitability per dealer become the shared language of that transition.

Checklist before choosing a software partner in Corum
Clarifying these points internally before you request proposals lets you compare vendors on scope rather than price alone.
- Have you mapped today’s quote, order, production and shipment flow?
- Is there an inventory of ERP, accounting, e-document provider and weighbridge systems?
- Is it defined who sees and approves what in the dealer portal?
- Are export documents and foreign-currency account tracking in scope?
- Are acceptance criteria and the post-go-live support period (SLA) defined?
- Does the contract state clearly who owns the source code and documentation?
For the full evaluation framework, see our guide on how to choose a software company.

How can Aksiyon Soft help?
Through our enterprise software solutions service we build production planning, dealer portals, e-document flows and the integration layer that ties them together in one consistent product. Our delivery model has four steps: discovery (process and system inventory), an MVP (for example a quote-to-work order flow for one product group), two-week sprint demos, and hypercare followed by SLA-backed support after go-live.
Our team is based in Samsun and works remotely across Türkiye; we do not claim a branch or representative office in Corum. The proximity between Samsun and Corum makes it easy to combine discovery and acceptance days into planned visits. To compare neighboring provinces, read our guides for Amasya, Tokat, Yozgat, Kirikkale and Ankara; for how our head office works, see Samsun enterprise software partner.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have an office in Corum?
No. Our head office is in Samsun. We run day-to-day work with Corum companies remotely and plan on-site visits for steps such as discovery, acceptance or go-live.
Do we need to replace our existing ERP?
Usually not. We add production planning and dealer portal modules alongside your ERP and manage the data flow between them through middleware.
Can you set up planning for project-based machinery production?
Yes. We track work at project level, from quote configuration and bills of materials to work orders and commissioning, and agree the scope together during discovery.
Do you handle e-invoice and e-waybill integration as well?
Yes. Depending on your service provider or GİB integration method, we connect document creation and status tracking to your ERP and shipment flow.
How soon can a dealer portal be used?
It depends on scope. A first release limited to orders, account balances and price lists can be demoed within a few sprints; service requests and payment integration can follow later.
Who owns the source code?
That is set in the contract. Enterprise projects usually aim to hand over source code and documentation to the client; third-party licenses are listed during discovery.
